Man, 29, faces prosecution for damaging N200,000 medicated glasses
A 29-year-old man, Happy Okagbe, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Asaba Magistrates’ Court for damaging a pair of n200,000 medicated glasses.
The defendant is facing a count charge of causing malicious damage.
The Prosecutor, Mrs. Susan John, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Sept. 10 at Faith Plaza, DLA Road, Asaba.
John said that Okagbe maliciously damaged a pair of medicated glasses, property of one Mrs. Ifeayinchukwu Favour.
She said that the offence was punishable under Section 517A of the Criminal Code Law, Cap C21, Vol. 1, Laws of Delta, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate Edith Anumodu granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000, with one surety in like sum.
Anumodu said that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and provide means of identification as well as two passport photographs and electricity bill.
She, thereafter, adjourned the case to Nov. 7 for definite hearing.
