Ex-Immigration Chief, David Parradang, reportedly killed by kidnappers
Former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), David Shikfu Parradang, has been reportedly killed by kidnappers after being abducted in Abuja on Monday night.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves across the nation, particularly within the security and immigration sectors.
Details surrounding the abduction remain unclear, but sources indicate that the former NIS boss was taken hostage by unidentified gunmen in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
While the exact circumstances of his killing are yet to be officially confirmed, multiple reports suggest that he was murdered by his captors.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
Efforts to reach the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, for comments were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
Parradang’s abduction and alleged killing have raised renewed concerns over the deteriorating security situation in the country, particularly in Abuja, which has witnessed a rise in high-profile kidnappings in recent months.
David Shikfu Parradang was a seasoned immigration officer who dedicated over 30 years of his life to public service. Throughout his illustrious career, he served in various capacities across Nigeria, including postings in Kano, Lagos, Kwara, Enugu, and the FCT.
Parradang was appointed Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service in 2013, a position he held until his suspension in 2015.

During his tenure, he advocated for improved border security, enhanced immigration policies, and better working conditions for immigration officers. His contributions to Nigeria’s immigration system were widely recognized within and beyond the country’s borders.
His tragic death highlights the growing insecurity in Nigeria’s capital and across the country.
Abuja, once considered one of the safer regions in Nigeria, has recently experienced a surge in kidnappings, banditry, and other violent crimes, leaving residents in fear.
Following reports of Parradang’s murder, there has been an outpouring of grief and condemnation from various quarters.
Colleagues, security experts, and citizens have expressed their sadness over his untimely demise while calling on the authorities to intensify security efforts to prevent similar tragedies.
Many have also urged the government to adopt stronger measures to tackle the rising wave of kidnappings, which continue to threaten national stability and public confidence in law enforcement agencies.
As of the time of this report, official confirmation from security agencies is still pending.
The FCT Police Command and other law enforcement agencies are expected to provide further details on the circumstances of his abduction and alleged killing.
The killing of David Shikfu Parradang is a painful reminder of the security challenges facing Nigeria.
It underscores the urgent need for a comprehensive strategy to combat crime, strengthen law enforcement agencies, and ensure the safety of all citizens.
