Black Panther reaches another milestone in the movie industry
By Boluwatife Ezekiel Olaleye
Marvel’s Black Panther movie continues to make history a short two months following its release and now the movie has officially surpassed Titanic as the third-highest grossing film of all time in North America as of Saturday.
The film earned $659.3 million as of Friday, coming in just shy of Titanic’s $659.5 million, which it easily surpassed the following day.
It now ranks behind Star Wars: The Force
Awakens ($936.7 million) and Avatar ($760.5 million). To be fair, none of the totals have been adjusted with inflation in mind, and Titanicwas released in 1997.
Black Panther has already entered the top ten globally, currently. ranked at number 10 with $1.29 billion in total worldwide earnings.
Seeing that the film is still in theatres, it should continue to rake in profits for the next little while.
