LA Liga chief Javier Tebas plays down EPL links
La Liga president Javier Tebas has poured cold water on reports that he could leave his position to join the Premier League.
A report in The Times last week said the Spanish league chief was a surprise leading candidate to replace Richard Scudamore as Premier League chief executive.
“My virtues are here in Spain and I don’t wish to discuss that any further,” Tebas told an interview with Diario AS, published this week.
La Liga had released a statement claiming the link was ‘a source of pride’ for the Spanish top flight, but denied all knowledge that such a move was in the pipeline.
