Police man allegedly shoots civil defence officer dead in Abuja
An unidentified police officer reportedly shot dead an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Abuja on Tuesday, March 19.
It was reported that the police officer allegedly opened fire on the NSCDC official identified as Ogar Ochigbo during an argument, after the civil defence officer was caught driving on a one-way route.
Report has it that the NSCDC officer was confirmed dead at Asokoro District Hospital, Abuja where he was taken to after the incident. In another news report, Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara state on Tuesday, March 19, in Abuja raised alarm over stock piling of arms by bandits operating in the state.
Yari made this known while speaking with State House correspondents after he had updated President Muhammadu Buhari on the socio-political and security developments in the state.
The governor, who ruled out dialogue with bandits, said: “I have told my people that dialogue will no longer take place during my time because I have done that three times, but it did not work.
