Álvaro Morata links move to AC Milan with Marriage Breakdown
Spanish forward Álvaro Morata has revealed that his recent transfer to AC Milan played a role in the end of his marriage to Alice Campello.
The 31-year-old striker completed a €13 million move to Milan last month, shortly after winning Euro 2024 with Spain, and signed a four-year contract with the Serie A club.
Morata and Campello, who wed in Venice in 2017, announced their separation on August 12 via Instagram.
Morata explained that the move to Milan contributed to their split, as Campello preferred to stay in Spain and was unwilling to relocate.
Addressing rumors of infidelity, Morata firmly denied being unfaithful during their seven-year marriage. “I am devastated by the rumors, but I swear I never cheated on her.
She is the most important woman in my life,” he told De Corazón.
“I avoided attending national team events to prevent further speculation and have refrained from speaking publicly to respect her privacy.”

In a separate interview with Spanish outlet Marca, Campello cited postpartum depression following the birth of their fourth child and the challenges of frequent relocations as reasons for their separation.
“We have both struggled with managing certain situations due to instability and my postpartum depression,” she said.
Campello also refuted claims of Morata’s infidelity, stating, “We still have a deep respect for each other.
Our love has not vanished overnight, and while we needed this change, Álvaro remains very important to me.”
The couple shares four children: twins Alessandro and Leonardo (born 2018), Edoardo (born 2020), and Bella (born 2023).
