APC Governors dump Andy Uba, commend Anambra governorship election
The Progressives Governors Forum at a meeting on Monday implicitly dumped the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State, Andy Ubah, who has vowed to challenge the result of the election. The APC governors endorsing the outcome of the Anambra State governorship election, commended the peaceful conduct of the polls. The governors expressed excitement that the election was held after threats of violence during the preparations for the polls.
The Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, Abubakar Bagudu, declared: “That the election took place is a victory. Party candidates have the pride of place to determine their views about the outcome of elections but we are proud that under the All Progressives Congress, the election that people thought will be impossible has taken place.”
The APC governors acknowledged the right of party candidates, [in this case, Ubah of the APC], to reject the outcome of the election, but maintained that APC governors are proud of the elections.
