APC suffers more defections, former House of Reps Speaker returns to PDP
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has continued to suffer more defections and loss of members to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), after losing eight senators in the National Assembly to the PDP in the preparations for the 2023 general elections. Joining the exodus from the APC was the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Ghali Na’Abba, who returned to the PDP, decrying that the APC is a disaster and calamity that has taken the Nigeria backward.
Na’Abba in a statement by Golu Timothy, declared that the “APC will surely face the wrath of Nigerians come 2023 for causing more pains to the nation.”
Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Austin Okpara, presided at the meeting of several former members of the House of Representatives in Abuja where Na’Abba announced his defection from the APC, and returned to the PDP.
The statement disclosed that “Na’Abba and all his supporters in Kano State and other states have returned to the PDP to work for the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as president next year.”
The former Deputy Speaker, Austin Okpara, expressed that the PDP is determined to take over power to restore human dignity and economic survival of the nation.
Opara stated that the absence of the PDP in power in about the past eight years has subverted everything in the country, causing hardship and despondency. He asserted the need to return the PDP to power to rescue Nigeria and Nigerians from prevailing hazards.
Former Deputy Speaker, and former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, also stated a victory for Atiku in the 2023 general elections will mean so much for Nigeria and its people. He therefore urged all members to work hard to ensure the success.
