Bandits getting bolder, ambush Buhari’s advanced convoy enroute Daura
Bandits are becoming bolder in northwest Nigeria, shifting their targets to the President of the country. The bandits in their new trade, ambushed the convoy of the advanced team of President Muhammadu Buhari on the way to Daura, Katsina State, the president’s country home, injuring some personnel.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Shehu Garba, acknowledging the attack on the president’s convoy, highlighted: “The attackers opened fire on the convoy from ambush positions but were repelled by the military, police and DSS personnel accompanying the convoy.
“Two persons in the convoy are receiving treatment for the minor injuries they suffered. All the other personnel, staff, and vehicles made it safely to Daura.”
