Bandits invade community in Kaduna, kill Priest, 12 other residents
Bandits on Sunday night invaded Pyeijim, a rural community in Atyap Chiefdom of Zango Kataf Local Government Area, Kaduna State, killing a Priest as well as other 12 residents of the community. The Priest killed by the bandits in the operation was identified as Senior Pastor of ECWA Church, Kibori, Reverend Silas Yakubu. The remains of the Reverend was said to be found in the vicinity of Zango Urban; he was perceived to be killed there by the bandits.
The community was merely at the mercy of vigilante groups for protection.
The bandits were said to have invaded the community in the late hours of Sunday. They were said to have arrived in large numbers, shooting sporadically and causing panic in the community.
Beside the priest and the 12 victims killed in the operation, the bandits were said to have injured many residents, forcing people to flee their homes for safety.
It was gathered that those injured have been taken to Zonkwa Rural Hospital for treatment.
