Bandits kidnap over 300, kill targets

No fewer than 300 villagers have been kidnapped and four killed in n early morning raid on Gora Namaye community of Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara.

The bandits stormed the community in large number with many vehicles, shooting sporadically, eyewitnesses said.

Mmoving from house to house, the kidnappers killed certain people already marked down, and hauled others away in vehicles they brought.

There was no police intervention.

But later, the state police command’s spokesman, SP Mohammed Shehu confirmed the incident, saying that the bandits killed only four people and kidnapped 50 persons.

He added s that armed security operatives have been deployed to the axis to rescue the kidnapped victims.
