How man got electrocuted in tree
Iortim Richard was trimming the outgrowth of a tree in front of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint, and his cutlass accidentally conducted high-tension electricity in the Kontien area of Gboko, Benue.
According to witnesses, the man was a church worker there, and he just returned from an errand when the resident pastor assigned him to do the trimming.
He was eventually electrocuted, and his lifeless body held there in the tree.
Police eventually came to calm the situation as the neighborhood was already in tension.
“The man was immediately electrocuted and his remains hung on the tree,” the witness said.
Electrocution remains one of the risks tree-planting poses for the unsuspecting, especially when electricity cables cut through the upper layer.
