Biafra League militia attack Bakassi Jetty, kill 1 policeman
There are emerging reports indicating that a militia group suspected to be members of the Biafra Nations League (BNL) operating in the coastal region of Bakassi Peninsula and the Gulf of Guinea attacked Bakassi jetty in the early hours of Saturday. one police officer was reportedly killed by the militants in the operation.
The reported attack was confirmed by Agba Jalingo, CEO of Cross River Watch, in a post on Facebook.
At the time of this report, the Biafra Nations League is yet to claim responsibility.
The agitational group had earlier raised alarm over the arrest of one of their members by the police, threatening to rise against security agencies if the arrested leader is not released; as well as warning the police to eschew from arresting BNL members in the coast of the Atlantic.
