By Anuoluwa Amao
Five people, including a truck driver, sustained serious injuries on Tuesday after a 40-foot HOWO truck rammed into two commercial buses at Berger Bus Stop, inward Kara Bridge, Lagos, following an alleged brake failure.
The crash occurred shortly after 1 p.m. as the truck travelled towards Kara Bridge. The driver reportedly lost control before ploughing into the parked buses.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said its officers rescued the victims, comprising three women and two men, and rushed them to the Lagos State Emergency and Trauma Centre at the Toll Gate for treatment. Police officers from Isheri Division secured the scene.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) had earlier confirmed that no lives were lost in the incident.
