BREAKING: Finally, Harry Maguire set to end his career at Old Trafford after United agree his offer
Manchester United have accepted a bid from West Ham for Harry Maguire, National Daily gathered.
The future of the defender has been uncertain at United recently after he slipped down Erik ten Hag’s pecking order last season.
Maguire however was understood to be keen to stay and fight for his place in the side despite his situation. And United were believed to be willing to keep hold their former captain.
The 30-year-old joined United in 2019 from Leicester City in a then record transfer fee of £80m for a defender. The England international has made 175 appearances since his arrival at Old Trafford.
United have finally agreed a £30m deal to sell Maguire to West Ham according to The Athletic.
Hopefully, the defender will revive his career in east London following a difficult period at Old Trafford – just last week he was booed by United fans in a pre-season friendly.
The Hammers are eager to boost up their squad with new arrivals after the exit of star player Declan Rice.
Maguire could become West Ham second summer signing following the earlier arrival of Mexico midfielder Edson Alvarez from Ajax.
The Hammers ended last season 14th in the Premier League, but with an European Conference League glory.
Meanwhile, United have rejected West Ham’s opening offer for Scott McTominay.
United could be out to trim their squad before the start of the new season after the arrival of Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund this summer.
