Harry Maguire keeps Ferguson’s memory alive
Manchester United former skipper Harry Maguire has kept the memory of Lady Cathy Ferguson alive. The defender has dedicated United’s win against Brentford to the ‘Ferguson family’ after the death of Lady Ferguson.
The 84-year-old who passed away on Thursday was the wife of United’s iconic manager Sir Alex Ferguson. She had three sons with the Red Devils legendary boss, following 57 years of marriage.
Cathy famously convinced Sir Alex not to retire in 2002, with Ferguson managing United for a further 11 years before his retirement in 2013.
His eventual retirement was because Cathy had lost her sister in the early months of the 2012/13 campaign, and Ferguson said it was his duty to be with her.

Sir Alex was not present as United scored twice in three minutes to beat Brentford at the Theatre of Dreams on Saturday courtesy of a brace from Scott McTominay.
‘This was for the Ferguson family….’Fergie time’, said Maguire.
‘Thinking of you boss and your family.
‘Rest in peace Cathy.’
It was a fitting tribute to the Scot, given his teams’ affinity for late goals.
And Maguire, who provided the assist for the winner, says the victory was for the Ferguson family.
