Breaking: Policeman killed as Taskforce, motorcyclists clash in Lagos
One policeman has been confirmed killed as operatives of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit, also known as Lagos Taskforce, on Thursday clashed with commercial motorcyclists, popularly called Okada in Ajao Estate, Airport road, Lagos.
It was gathered that Task Force personnel seized bikes and the situation turned violent.
Residents explained that trouble started on Thursday afternoon when operatives of the Taskforce swooped on Okada operators in the area, seizing their bikes and forcing them into black Marias.
This was said to have attracted other riders and tout in the neighbourhood who launched a counter attack, and in the process, a police officer was killed.

The clash had caused pandemonium in the area as residents, shop owners, and passers-by scampered for safety.
On Thursday, the task force had raided Yaba, Oyingbo, Berger, Costain and other major areas in order to confiscate motorcycles plying the major highways and restricted routes.
