Conte in London to terminate contract
- as Madrid appointment looms
Antonio Conte has reportedly travelled to London in order to try to agree the release from his contract at former club Chelsea.
Conte left Stamford Bridge in the summer, but the Italian remains tied to the Premier League side as disagreements continue over the amount of compensation that the ex-head coach is due after being sacked in July.
However, Real Madrid are said to be ready to appoint Conte as a replacement for under-fire manager Julen Lopetegui, who could be sacked on Monday after the 5-1 defeat to Barcelona in El Clasico.
According to Tuttomercatosport, that has resulted in Conte making the journey to London in order to resolve his ongoing issues with Chelsea.
The report suggests that Conte is currently scheduled to hold talks with Madrid later on Monday ahead of replacing Lopetegui later this week.
Real currently sit in eighth place in the La Liga standings, seven points adrift of leaders Barca.
