Eagles coach would be annouced soon – Enoh
Minister of Sports Development John Ewah Enoh says a new coach for the Super Eagles will be announced sooner than later.
Enoh made this disclosure during an appearance on Politics Tonight on Channels TV in an interactive seesion.
The team have been without a coach since Finidi George resigned in June after a poor run of games in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
But the wait seems to be nearing an end over the minister’s assurance, which may have come late, with the Super Eagles facing Benin Republic in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification tie in less than 30 days.

“The appointment will be sooner rather than later,” said Enoh, who has yet to get over the disappointment of Nigeria failing to win a medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
Herve Renard, Eric Chelle, as well as local coaches like Samson Siasia and Salisu Yusuf are some of the coaches linked with the job, but the Nigeria Football Federation has so kept its choice under wraps.
