EFCC arraigns man for fraud, stealing C of O
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), has arraigned one Daniel Onyebuchi Anyikai before Justice C.S Oriji of the FCT High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja on a six-count charge of obtaining by false pretence, criminal conspiracy and forgery.
Anyikai, was said to have in August, 2008 allegedly conspired with one Mohammed Lawal to steal a title document of a parcel of land situated at Plot No.921, Katampe B07, Abuja belonging to one Alhaji Lawal Umar Aminu.

The alleged offence is contrary to Section 317 of the Penal Code. Charged on a one count read: ‘‘ANYIKA ONYEBUCHI, sometime in August, 2008 at Abuja within the juridsdiction of this Honourable Court dishonestly recieved stolen property to wit : Certificate of Occupancy over Plot No.921, Katampe B07, File No. 10304 the property of one Alhaji Lawal Umar Aminu, having reason to believe same to be stolen property.”
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him; as a result, the counsel to EFCC, Samuel Okeleke asked the court for a trial date and prayed the court to remand the accused person in EFCC custody.
Justice Oriji ordered the accused person to be remanded in EFCC custody and adjourned the matter to March 24, 2016 for trial.
