Fire outburst consumes six at road accident scene
Fire outburst at the scene of motor accident at Ode Aye junction in Okitipupa Local Government Area, Ondo State burnt over six persons to death on Friday.
A Toyota coaster bus had collided with a J5 bus conveying Ethanol at Ode Aye junction, which sparked the fire that consumed the passengers. One of the vehicles, in the process of overtalking a car at a bend location of the road, crashed into the oncoming bus near Oluwa River, and triggered instant fire from the ethanol on transit.
It was disclosed that occupants of the coastal bus identified to belong to Akure North Local Government Area were on transit to Okitipupa for an event organized by the Directors of the Odigbo Local Government Area.
The six passengers were said to be burnt beyond recognition. Other victims were rushed to Prima Hospital, Ore, Odigbo Local Government for urgent medical treatment.
