Fuel tanker explosion burns 13 vehicles on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
An explosion from a tanker conveying petroleum product on Tuesday burnt over 13 vehicles adjacent to the trailer park at Ogere, Ogun State, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The vehicles destroyed were identified to include six trailers, five trucks, and two cars.
The explosion was said to have taken place at about 6.20am on Tuesday, and obstructed traffic from Oyo State axis of the expressway towards Lagos State.
The human casualty figure could not be ascertained at the time of the inferno while Fire Fighters and road safety officials were at the scene battling to extinguish the fire.
Accidents and destruction form tanker explosion are gradually increasing in the southwest Nigeria, including the city of Lagos.
