Gas tanker explode along Lagos-Ibadan expressway
A loaded gas tanker caught fire on Sunday night around the Lotto area o the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogun on Sunday.
No reason has been given for the explosion that brought traffic to a halt along the road under construction.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident, saying rescue operation was ongoing.
The FRSC spokesperson in Ogun, Florence Okpe, could not confirm whether or not there were casualties in the fire incident.
“There is a gas tanker explosion around Lotto, on Lagos-Ibadan expressway. The FRSC rescue team is on ground for the rescue operation. Details soon,” Okpe said.
