Group flays CSP Kazeem Abonde’s gruesome murder, seeks justice
The Lagos State Coordinator of Committee of Youths on Mobilization and Sensitization, (C.Y.M.S), Comrade Leo Obasi has described the recent gruesome murder of CSP Kazeem Abonde as a dastardly act that must be prosecuted and culprits brought to justice.
The CYMS in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman Comrade Obasi and Comrade
Ikenna Nwaeze the State Director of Publicity, states that an act by an individual or group of people to undermine the statutory obligation of the Nigerian Police Force should not be condoned.
“The security of lives and properties still remains the statutory obligation of the Nigerian Police Force,(N.P.F) and should not be undermined by any individual or group.”
It would be recalled that Chief Superintendent of Police,(CSP) Kazeem Abonde a senior Police officer attached to the Operations department of the force was mindlessly killed on the 23rd of September,2021 at Ajao Estate, Isolo area of Lagos state.
The deceased who was wantonly murdered had reportedly served the force for over 34 years and due for retirement in six months time in a ceremoniously manner too having been a diligent officer.
CSP Kazeem was a Divisional Police Officer,(DPO)at Ajangbadi Division where he left behind enviable imprints, being a lawyer his plan was to return to his Law Chamber after a successful retirement from the force.
According Comrade Obasi, CSP Abonde on that fateful day led a combined team of Task Force, RRS and other tactical team to identify flashpoints and hoodlums hideout around Ajao Estate and to also enforce the ban on commercial Motorcycles in restricted areas, which were part of the statutory obligations of the Nigerian Police Force.
“The operations of the Nigerian Police Force in the area was a successful one, following several arrests that were made, it however turned awry when at the Estate’s exit point men of the NPF were way laid resulting to the sudden death of CSP Kazeem.
“The attack as wicked, malicious and uncalled for, I charged the force to constitutionally prosecute any one involved in the devilish act.” Obasi retorted.
He added that the Police’s proactive moves in other parts of the state had being productive as it has helped to drastically reduce the activities of the men of the underworld there.
The deceased body had since been deposited in Yaba Hospital for autopsy. He added that the deceased will sorely missed by all.
