Hotel worker docked for allegedly stealing from guest.
The police on Friday brought a 22-year-old hotel worker, Abigail Towenu, before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing property, belonging to a guest, valued at N560,000.
Towenu, whose residential address was not provided, is facing a count charge of stealing, to which she pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, ASP. Clement Okuoimose, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 1, at about 12 noon at Fatoma Hotel, Old Itoga Road in Badagry, Lagos state.
Okuoimose said the defendant stole one Tecno Canon phone, valued at N150,000, a gold wristwatch worth N360,000 and N50,000 cash belonging to a guest, Michael Agene from her room.
He said that the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Fadahunsi Adefioye, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adefioye adjourned the case until April 4 for mention.
