KYARI: Malami denies FBI petitioned Nigeria
AGF and Justice Minister Abubakar Malami has spoken out on the likelihood of America’s FBI extraditing CP Abba Kyari alleged to have aided and abetted a UAE-based fraudster Ramon Abbas (Hushpuppi) in defrauding a Qatari businessman in 2020.
Kyari has been suspended, and investigation by the Police Service Commission has commenced.
It was also reported the FBI has met with certain agencies in Nigeria on the matter whuich came into the open last week.
That appears to be all there is.
“There is no official communication to that effect,” Malami said though his media aide Gwandu in an interview with the Punch.
According to him, no transfer process will commence until there is a request from the United States to that effect.
“Everything will be done according to the rule of law and based on the dictates of the extant provisions of the law,” he said.
