Liverpool dominate nominations with 7 players, as Benzema, Courtois, De Bruyne top list for UEFA Award
Liverpool FC of England dominate the list of nominees for UEFA Award with seven players. The Liverpool nominees include Trent Alexander-Arnold, Luis Diaz, Fabinho, Sadio Mane, currently with Bayern Munich in Germany, Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah, and Virgil Van Dijk.
France has four nominees who include Selma Bacha, Kadidiatou Diani, Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Wendie Renard.
Top on the list is Karim Benzema, then, Thibaut Courtois of Real Madrid, Spain, Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City, England. The list for the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award was released on Friday.
Six Real Madrid players on the nomination list are Benzema, Thibaut Courtois, Casemiro, Luka Modric, Vinicius, and Antonio Rudiger, former Chelsea defender.
The award will be presented on August 25 when UEFA will be drawing the Champions League group stage pairings.
UEFA named three nominees for coach of the year. They include Carlo Ancelotti of Real Madrid, Spain; Josep Guardiola of Manchester City, England; and Juergen Klopp, Liverpool.
