Man, 34, kills 3 year old child after sleeping in father’s house
Men of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested a 34-year-old man, Onwele Anayo, for the m¥rder of a three-year-old girl, Divine Eze, in Hillview Estate, Nkwelle -Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
In a statement released today June 16, the spokesman of the command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said the suspect had visited the father of the victim on Wednesday and spent the night. An argument ensued between them and in the process he k!lled the child.
“Anambra State Police operatives have today 16/6/2022 arrested one Mr Onwele Anayo ‘M’ aged 34-year-old on the murder of Divine Eze ‘M’ aged 3, residing in Hillview Estate, Nkwelle -Ezunaka.
Preliminary information shows that the suspect visited the father of the victim on Wednesday 15/6/2022 and spent the night in the victim’s house. In the early hours of Thursday 16/6/2022, an argument ensued between the father and the suspect.
The suspect (Mr Anayo) took the child (Divine) as she was sleeping and k!lled her, by hitting her on the floor several times. Mr Anayo, carried a knife from the room, and pursued the father around the house, threatening to k!ll him.”
Tochukwu said police operatives have visited the scene and recovered the body of the child and an investigation is ongoing.
