Marcelo reacts to Juventus rumours
The defender answered to the rumours which surfaced yesterday after an Italian newspaper La Stampa reported Marcelo agreed terms with Juventus.
He replied to media with an Instagram publication.
Marcelo posted a picture from recent training capturing it ‘This is my home’
If you are willing to judge whether someone is going to change teams on social media, then you can be sure Marcelo is not going anywhere. Amidst heavy links with Juventus that have been going on for quite some time, the left-back took to Instagram to clarify the situation.
His last post is a photo from training, captioned with a definite answer:
‘This is my home’.
Italian media reported that Marcelo has decided on his future. The left-back has agreed terms with Juventus and will join his old friend Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer, according to the paper. La Stampa reported that his contract is going to be a four-year deal with 12 million euros per season salary.
According to the Diario AS, the Brazilian full-back was using the ‘Cristiano way’ to arrange his exit from the club. In particular, Marcelo has informed Real Madrid earlier that he is not happy with the criticism he is receiving inside and outside the club and has stated that he is ready to leave should the situation stay the same until the end of the season – with the bad press and repeated snubs from the starting XI.
Marcelo met up with Jose Angel Sanchez earlier in February, to articulate his unhappiness and ask for an easy departure in consideration of his excellent service to Real Madrid. The club have already lowered his buyout clause from €1 billion to €100 million.
