Mayhem at Rivers House of Assembly over impeachment of Gov
There was mayhem at the Rivers State House of Assembly on Monday morning as lawmakers intensified move to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The Police were reported to have stormed the Assembly environs, firing teargas which compelled members of the House to flee for safety while tear gas was fired outside the Rivers Assembly complex.
There were reports of gunshot at the Assembly complex as lawmakers commenced impeachment proceedings against the governor.
Meanwhile, the Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Edison Ehie, has been removed from his position as the Leader of the House to pave the way for the impeachment of the governor.
