N84bn: EFCC arrests former Gov Yari of Zamfara
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Sunday, arrested former Governor Abdul’aziz Yari of Zamfara State over the N84 billion fraud allegation in the office of the Attorney General of the Federation.
An official of the commission was said to have revealed that the former Zamfara State governor was arrested for allegedly benefiting the sum of N22 billion from the N84 billion the former AGF allegedly paid to one Akindele by the former Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmad Idris.
The former governor was said to be arrested at about 5,00pm on Sunday.
The commission also arrested one Anthony Yaro, identified as the Chairman and Managing Director of Finex Professional – the company through which former Governor Yari allegedly benefited from the fund.
