NANPF seek international partnership as Tijani Babangida visits FIFRO
Newly elected President of National Association Of Nigeria Professional Footballlers (NANPF) Tijani Babangida is taking immediate steps in ensuring the body gets better in all ramifications.
National Daily learnt that the Ex International who was elected on December 4, 2018 in Abuja traveled to Holland and had a round table dialogue with stakeholders to discuss the future plans of NANPF and how international Associations can help reposition the Nigerian body.
Comrade Tijani Babangida had swell time with legends of Dutch outfit Ajax Amsterdam, as well as the General Secretary of The Federation of International Footballers Professional Associationd (FIFPRO) Theo Van Seggenlen.
FIFPRO is the worldwide representative organization for sixty five thousand professional Footballlers, made up of 63 national players Associations, with its global Headquarters in Hoofddorp, Netherlands.
The General Secretary of NANPF, Austin Popo said the visit to those who know is a good omen, and a sign that the body is committed to hitting the ground running and carve a niche with International standard.
Austin Popo Said “All hands are on deck, everyone is ready for the challenge ahead and it is evident that we are really leaving no stone unturned, it is imperative to take drastic steps, and that is exactly what we are doing at this point”
After making his International debut in 1994, Tijani Babangida played over 30 games for Nigeria including four at the 1998 World Cup in France, he also participated in two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and won gold for Nigeria at the Atlanta 1996 Olympics.
