NGO building 5000 houses for locals in Yobe
The World Nations Development Programme, an NGO, has pledged to build 5,000 units of two bedroom flats in Yobe.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Baba Wali, disclosed this in a statement in Damaturu on Saturday.
He said the NGO’s earlier request for land to execute the project had been granted.
The SSG also said that lands had been allocated for the project across the 17 local government areas of the state.
Wali said as a progressive state, Yobe was ready to partner any group on infrastructure development to improve the living conditions of its people.
The SSG thanked the NGO for the humanitarian gesture, requesting it to indicate date it would want to begin work for adequate arrangements by the state.
