Nigerian Army dismisses soldier for armed robbery, hands him over to police
The Nigerian Army has dismissed Lance Corporal Samuel Emmanuel over his alleged involvement in armed robbery.
According to SaharaReporters, Emmanuel was recently arrested in connection with a robbery case. His dismissal followed a court martial held during the week at the 16 Brigade Garrison.
An internal military memo confirmed the development, stating: “Lance Corporal Samuel Emmanuel, serving under the 16 Brigade Garrison, has been officially dismissed from the Nigerian Army following his involvement in a case of armed robbery.
“After a thorough investigation and military proceedings, he was found guilty and subsequently discharged from the Regiment.” The Army emphasized its zero-tolerance stance on criminal behavior and indiscipline, stressing that all personnel are expected to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and conduct. Emmanuel has since been handed over to the police for further action.
