Kemi Badenoch, a British candidate for prime minister, criticized Nigerian leaders as she declared her candidacy.
Her comments have been garnering reactions on Twitter on Wednesday.
Badenoch is a native of Nigeria.
I’m ambitious for our party and for our nation, she declared. 
I decided to serve as a conservative MP, and I selected this nation because I can be free and be anyone I want to be here.
“I grew up in Nigeria, where I personally saw politicians acting self-serving. 
When they promise the planet and then use private funds as their piggybanks, they damage not only the earth but the entire political climate by failing to take care of others.
I came to Britain with the intention of succeeding in a society that values integrity and hard work.
