Nwogbaga’s header wins it for go round in Omoku
The result also meant that the “Mbanabaragu” Boys achieved a double over their guests for the first time having won the reverse fixture at the Umuahia Township Stadium 2-1 on matchday two.
It was a game of two halves as Abia Warriors had dominated their opponents in the first half but their strikers failed to convert until when a defensive blunder allowed unmarked Nwogbaga to head in a cross from Adeseun Adelani pass helpless Uche Okafor .
Obi Samson, who lost a number of glorious opportunities, nearly atoned for his sins but his 30th minute goal was ruled off for a foul by the center referee.
Henry Makinwa, Abia Warriors Manager could not change their fortunes through his substitutions as the home team defended stoutly to ensure they bagged the maximum three points at stake.
Next for Abia Warriors is a home game against Yobe Desert Stars of Damaturu in Umuahia this weekend.
