Obasanjo’s new appointment confirms his profound experience – Saraki
The immediate past Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki has congratulated former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on his recent appointment as the AU High Representative for the Horn of Africa.
Recall that the Chairman of the African Union, AU, Moussa Faki Mahamat at the weekend appointed former President Olusegun Obasanjo as his High Representative for the Horn of Africa region.
Mahamat said Obasanjo’s appointment was part of the AU’s drive to promote peace, security, stability and political dialogue across the Horn of Africa.

In a congratulatory message, Saraki said Obasanjo’s appointment was a testament to his “profound experience and widespread network across the continent and the world.”
He noted that Obasanjo’s appointment would make Nigeria proud.
Part of the statement read: “I congratulate H.E. President Olusegun Obasanjo on the appointment as the African Union (AU) High Representative for the Horn of Africa.
“As the AU continues to work to promote peace and stability in and amongst its Member States, President Obasanjo’s profound experience and widespread network across the continent and the world will undoubtedly help to meet these objectives.”
Saraki wished Obasanjo success as he began his strategic assignment on behalf of the continent.
