Ogun LG polls: Police sets up joint operation room, releases hotlines

The Ogun state Police command says it has set up a joint operation room as parts of efforts at ensuring safety of people during the forthcoming July 24th local government election in the state.

In a statement signed by the spokesman of the Command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Command stated that further to the earlier release on the Security arrangement put in place for the forthcoming Local Government Election in Ogun State, the Ogun State Police Command has also set up Joint operation room for the purpose of the election which can be contacted by members of the public whenever the needs arise.

“The Joint operation room which is going to be manned by representatives of all security agencies can be contacted through the following numbers in case of any security threat during the period of the election.

The Ogun state Police Commissioner, Edward Awolowo Ajogun in the statement stated that the command’s tactical teams, namely SWAT, Anti-kidnapping, Anti-cultism as well as PMF have been deployed to every nook and cranny of the state to ensure hitch free local government election.

He appealed to party leaders to advise their supporters to conduct themselves in peaceful manner as anybody caught trying to disrupt the smooth conduct of the election will be made to feel the full weight of the law.
