Okowa assures PDP’s willing to carry G5 allies along
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Bayelsa State, disclosed that the PDP is willing to carry the party’s protesting five governors (PDP G5) along and is making efforts for reconciliation and unity.
Okowa assured that the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, will soon meet with the five aggrieved governors, saying that the PDP is one big family.
According Okowa, “We believe that we are one family. There are still issues and they are being attended to. Very soon, there will be a meeting between the presidential candidate with the G5 governors.
“They are part of the family and we are not going to allow them to go. So, obviously, everything is being put in place to reconcile all differences and move together as a family.”
The PDP G5 Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State; they are demanding for the resignation of the PDP national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, and appointment of a southern national chairman since Atiku emerged the PDP presidential candidate.
