Osun PDP harps on peace as party holds primary election
The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged members to maintain peace and uphold standards as primary elections approach. Osun PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi, made the appeal in a statement on Friday.
The primaries for local government councilorship positions will take place on August 17, 2024, across the state’s 332 wards, with chairmanship primaries scheduled for August 19, 2024, in the 30 local government headquarters.
The Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) has set February 22, 2025, for the local government elections.

Osun PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi emphasized that the party’s State Working Committee will not tolerate violence during or after the primaries and called on aspirants and supporters to adhere to legal and party guidelines.
He assured that measures are in place to ensure a smooth process and urged compliance with the law, warning that violations could lead to disqualification.
