Oyo APC warns against protests, fears hijack by saboteurs
The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned against planned protests against the federal government, warning that such demonstrations could be hijacked by “enemies and economic saboteurs.”
In a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, the state chairman, Isaac Omodewu, expressed concerns that violent protests could destabilize the nation.
He emphasized that dialogue, rather than confrontation, is the preferred path to addressing the challenges posed by the removal of fuel subsidies.
Omodewu acknowledged the hardship caused by the fuel subsidy removal but urged patience, assuring the public that the government is working to mitigate the impact.

He also accused “leech-like individuals” who benefited from the old system of being behind the planned protests, aiming to derail the government’s reform agenda.
The APC chieftain drew parallels between the proposed protests and the 2020 #EndSARS protest demonstrations, which were infiltrated by criminal elements.
He called on Nigerians to support the government’s efforts to reposition the country and avoid such protest.
