PDP crises: One man does not make a Party, Babajide tells Wike
Multiple award-winning journalist, Babajide Kolade-Otitoju has told Rivers State Governor, Governor Nyesom Wike that just as a tree does not make a forest, so does One man does not make a Party.
The investigative journalist was quoted this on Saturdayy’s edition of “issues with Jide”(a TV programme which holds every Saturday at 6pm on TVC news channel).
PDP has had a tradition of the Party’s Chairman coming from the South if the Presidential candidate of the party is from the North(Vice-Versa) and Wike is agitating that this tradition must be kept and Iyorchia Ayu(PDP’s Party Chairman) must resign from his position as the party’s chairman. Although the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Party has been handed to the South but Wike still feels that is not enough as the Chairman of the BoT is just an advisory body and not a body that makes decisions.
However, PDP has passed a vote of confidence to Sen. Iyorchia Ayu despite Wike’s agitations this has been the issue rocking the PDP.
Reacting to this, Babajide has reportedly told Wike that One man does not make a Party and he might get himself embarrassed with the way things are going in the Party.
“just as a tree does not make a forest, so does One man does not make a Party. Wike has been managing to make things go his way in the PDP but with the way this one is going, he might get himself embarrassed and force the PDP to without him in the forthcoming general elections”, Babajide said.
