The governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has filed a petition at the Governorship Election
Petitions Tribunal challenging the election of Governor Abdullahi
Ganduje.
Abba approached the Tribunal, arguing that he won the March 9
governorship election in the state but the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the election inconclusive which, he said, is a violation of the Constitution and the Electoral Act.
The PDP candidate, his running mate, Aminu Abdussalami, and
Kwankwasiyya supporters, stormed the Tribunal Secretariat to file the
petition.
The conducted the supplementary governorship election on March 23 to
complete the inconclusive election of March 9, the result ‘altered’
the winning gap of the PDP candidate, which made the INEC declareo Governor Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the
governorship election after trailing behind in the main election of
March 9.
