Police declare two wanted in Delta over homosexuality

The Delta State Police Command has declared one Mr. Onome Aghogho Joel and Mr Ojobor Oruno kelvin, wanted for allegedly involving in homosexuality act contrary to same sex marriage prohibition Act 2013 of the Federal Government of Nigeria signed into law 2014.

The indecent act which allegedly occurred on September, 2022, took place at No. 22 Akpologbe Street, Essi Layout, Warri, Delta state, Nigeria involving Aghogho and his partner, Oruno.

Delta State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe who disclosed this to journalists in Asaba, said  that on September 20 2022, at about 01:00 hours,  Aghogho Onome and Ojobor Oruno, both male, were caught engaging themselves in an unlawful sexual act.

Edafe revealed that both men are still at large, and have therefore been declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force.

“We hereby declare Mr. Aghogho Onome and Mr Ojobor Oruno wanted consequent upon the breach of Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act 2013 signed into law January 7, 2014”. They were alleged to have engaged in homosexual practice.

“Anyone with useful information about the whereabouts of both men should please contact the nearest Police Station, law enforcement agency or journalists for proper prosecution.”

“All attempts to contact them in order to get their own side of the matter proved abortive as friends and relatives do not know their whereabouts

The State Police Spokesman, also warned that explicit or implicit public show of amorous relationships between people of the same sex remained prohibited in the state, and indeed in the country, stating that he would do everything within his capacity to ensure the state is free from homosexual activities.
