Pregnant woman, weeks-old baby burnt in jetty fire
Five dead bodies have been recovered from an early morning fire incident at Bonny Bille jetty in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State on Monday.
A pregnant woman and a two-month-old boy were burnt in the fire, besides about 60 wooden and fibre boats destroyed.
The fire was said to have been caused by some persons offloading illegally refined petroleum products from the boats around 2am.
Officials of the National Inland Waterways Authority are monitoring evacuation of victims and investigating the cause of the disaster.
