Presidency 2023: Obi cautions supporters against personal attack on aspirants, congratulates Atiku
A presidential aspirant for the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, on Sunday cautioned his supporters to desist from attack on individual presidential aspirants for the 2023 general elections. Obi also congratulated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the party’s national convention in Abuja on Sunday.
Obi in several tweets on his twitter handle told his supporters that “the common goal is to make Nigeria better.” He added that “elections are a democratic contest and need not be adversarial.”
Obi in his tweets wrote: Peter Obi – @PeterObi “It has been brought to my attention, and I have also observed that some of my numerous supporters are making personal attacks on other aspirants/candidates.
“The common goal is to make Nigeria better. Elections are a democratic contest and need not be adversarial. -PO.”
Peter Obi – @PeterObi – “On behalf of my family, I sincerely congratulate my leader and dear elder brother, H.E @atiku, on his emergence as the 2023 presidential flag bearer of the @OfficialPDPNig. I pray that the Almighty God who sees your goodness will continue to bless you now and always. -PO”
Obi had resigned from the PDP, withdrawing from the presidential race in the party. He later joined the Labour Party where he intends to continue with his presidential ambition for the 2023 elections.
