Reno Omokri reveals the likely reason why the Senate president is running for presidency
Political associates of Ahmad Lawan picked the presidential nomination and expression of interest form on behalf of the Senate president. While addressing Journalists, the leader of the group, Chief Sam Nkire stated that they want Ahmad Lawan to become the next president for national stability and they are bringing a Nigerian president for the people not a Yoruba, Igbo or Fulani president.
Chief Sam Nkire also stated that PDP influenced their decision to take this step because they do not want PDP to take government from them, he said if APC gives the presidency to a southerner and PDP gives their ticket to a northerner, APC will go into the wilderness and they don’t want that to happen.
After the group picked the presidential nomination form for Ahmad Lawan, Reno Omokri took to his Twitter account to say that the Senate president got his position courtesy of Bola Tinubu and he doesn’t look like a betrayer. He said he doubts if Ahmad Lawan is seriously running, because he might just be in the race in order to get the vice president’s slot which APC might zone to the north east.
