Rising insecurity: Unknown gunmen burn Nnewi South LGA Secretariat, police station in Anambra
Anambra State has come under the torment of unknown gunmen since the emergence of Governor Charles Soludo. The emergent insecurity phenomenon called unknown gunmen, a replica of northern bandits, in the southeast, advancing their insecurity mission, set ablaze the Secretariat of Nnewi South Local Government Area at Ukpor, including a police station. The inkwon gunmen had two days earlier burnt the Headquarters of Idemili North Local Government, Ogidi.
Condemning the actions Chairman of Idemili Leaders of Thought, Dr Boniface Agbala; the National Trustee/Anambra State Coordinator of South East Nigeria Presidency Movement (SENPM), Obioha Ireamoke JP; Paramount Ruler of Ogidi, Igwe Alexander Onyido; chairman of Mgbachu village Nkpor, Chief Arinze Idemili, and Bishop Abraham Chris Udeh of the ‘By fire by fire’ Ministry, Nnewi, and Chief Jude Nwankwo, President of Building Materials International Market, Ogidi, were said to have condemned the attacks in the state, describing the rising insecurity in Anambra State and the entire southeast as very unfortunate.
Unknown gunmen have been tormenting southeast states over the years from Imp State to Abia, extending to Anambra and others.
