Sampaoli confident Argentina can still make World Cup
By Boluwatife Ezekiel Olaleye
Argentina currently sit in sixth spot – outside the qualifications places – following their goalless draw with Peru on Thursday.
La Albiceleste take on Ecuador on Tuesday, and the former Sevilla tactician remains hopeful of qualification.
“I am still confident that we will be at the World Cup”.
“It was a very good game. We just missed a goal. I am very hopeful and excited about what is coming.
“The team never gave up, put in a huge effort and deserved another result.”
Despite being held to a goalless draw, Sampaoli heaped praise on Lionel Messi’s display.
“Messi played a great game, created chances and gave good passes,” he added.
