Son accuses mother of killing father with pestle
Ibikunle Solomon from Ondo State has narrated how his mother, Mrs Tayelolu Solomon killed his father Felix Solomon by hitting a pestle on his head while he was sleeping.
Tayelolu was said to have fled after killing his 67-year-old husband with a pestle which she hit on his head while he was sleeping after they initially had a misunderstanding.
The Ondo State Police Command said they are on the trail of the woman, in a bid to arrest her and make her pay for her crime.
According to Ibikunle, his mother killed his father with a pestle in his presence and took to her heels, saying she used the pestle to hit his head when he was asleep.

He said earlier on that fateful day, a minor argument had ensued between them that resulted in a fight, adding that after the fight, his father went to lie on the chair and that his mother hit his head with the pestle.
“He became unconscious in the process and fell down from where he was sleeping. My mother used the pestle to hit my father’s head three times and he later died,” Ibikunle said.
Ibikunle said when his mother saw that his father was already unconscious, she hid the pestle at the back of the house and ran away.
He said he alerted some of the residents, who rushed his father to the hospital, but that he later died.
Ibikunle stated that his father’s corpse had been deposited at the morgue.
Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, spokesperson, Ondo State Police Command said the incident occurred last week when the couple had a fight but that the suspect is currently at large, adding that the police were already on her trail.
